Why produce modules locally?

• Modules are the largest cost factor in a PV system (>60 %)

• Modules represent the largest logistic costs due to volume and weight

• Logistic is getting a bottleneck for many products especially those from Asia

• The dominant Chinese producers focus on mainstream high volume modules

• There are interesting market segments which will receive high attention

• BIPV (building integrated PV) will grow above average to fulfill goals due to lack of other locations

• Low entrance barriers for modules production (investment, infrastructure, personal)

• Low investment for automatic production and high sales volume
